GitDealFlow uses one buyer framework: the Public Engineering Diligence Workflow. It starts with a reproducible read of public repository activity, then asks you to compare, inspect, and corroborate before any investment decision. The underlying implementation is published at signals.gitdealflow.com/mechanism.

The dataset is CC BY 4.0 and downloadable. The SSRN research panel reports a 21 to 47 day interquartile range between the observed signal and a public fundraise announcement. That is a research result and a diligence input, not a financing forecast.

GitDealFlow exists because most tools get stronger after the story is already public. This product was built around a different question: what changed before the round starts feeling obvious, and how can you check that without taking a vendor's word for it?

Who Is Behind This

I'm The Data Nerd, the pseudonymous author of the public methodology and SSRN paper. The methodology is the protagonist. The useful question is whether you can inspect and challenge the evidence, not whether you know a founder story.

Here is the part that matters most for you: you do not need to read code. GitDealFlow turns observed public engineering activity into a plain-English diligence read. It helps decide what to investigate next. It does not forecast financing.

You do not need my name. You need a trail you can verify.

Pseudonymity is not the same as anonymity-from-accountability. Every claim this product makes rests on a public, versioned, citable trail, not on the word of a person you cannot look up. Each of these is a real identifier you can follow to the underlying work:

A single pseudonymous byline backed by nine verifiable identifiers is a stronger trust signal than a real name with nothing behind it. The proof surface is public; the data is inspectable; the methodology is reproducible against the Zenodo dataset.

We keep score in public.

Most data vendors only show you their wins. Every Monday we name 10 startups whose GitHub engineering acceleration crossed our signal threshold. We then grade every pick in public at the 60-day and 90-day mark, raise, acquisition, product launch, or nothing. The scorecard includes the misses, not just the hits.
